Triton-backed Unica acquires PCT Koudetechniek
PE-backed Dutch company Unica has acquired PCT Koudetechniek, the Netherlands-based refrigeration technology company.
Terms of the deal were not disclosed. The deal is Unica's sixth acquisition under the ownership of Triton, which acquired the industrial technology and process management group in 2017 for an enterprise value of around €200m. The investment was drawn from Triton Fund IV.
The latest deal will allow Unica to strengthen its position in refrigeration, with PCT becoming part of Unica's Industry Solutions cluster, which deals with production processes, mechanical engineering and control technology. However, PCT will continue to operate under its own name due to its recognisability in the market.
John Quist, CEO of Unica, said: "PCT has a wide range of customers and an excellent reputation. It strengthens Unica's portfolio with a broader range of products and services."
Unica generated sales of €480m in 2018 and currently employs 2,200 people.
Apart from PCT, Unica's other acquisitions include Numan & Kant, Dotwood, Boele Fire Protection, Brainpact and Synto.
The company expects to make further acquisitions in the current year to strengthen its specialised activities or to further expand its regional presence.
