BDT invests in AGP Group
Chicago-based investor BDT Capital Partners has acquired a minority stake in Belgian designer and manufacturer of automotive glazing AGP Group.
BDT is investing alongside the Mannheim family, who will continue as the controlling shareholder. Goldman Sachs, which became an investor in 2018, will remain as a minority shareholder.
The investment will aim to provide long-term capital to accelerate the company's global expansion plans of their eGlass division. The company's CEO, Arturo Mannheim, said in a statement that, with the GP's support, the company would build two tech innovation centres and two eGlass manufacturing facilities in North America and Asia.
Company
Founded in 1965 and headquartered in Ghent, AGP is a designer and manufacturer of high-tech automotive glazing. The company has three business divisions, AGP eGlass, AGP Security and AGP Defense, developing products for the automotive, marine, and security markets respectively.
