Dawn, Hummingbird invest $8.5m in Showpad
Dawn Capital has led an $8.5m series-B funding round for Showpad, a Belgian mobile sales software-as-a-service company, with participation from existing backer Hummingbird Ventures.
The company will use the fresh capital to grow its marketing and sales operations. Showpad is looking to hire an additional 25 employees for its two offices in Belgium and the US. The company is aiming to exceed $10m in revenues by 2015.
Dawn is currently investing from its second fund, Dawn Capital II, which closed on £63m in July last year.

In March 2013, Hummingbird injected $2m into Showpad.
Company
Founded in 2011, Showpad is headquartered in Ghent with an additional office in San Francisco, which opened in October last year.
The company is a provider of mobile sales software-as-a-service, designed to increase productivity of sales and provide marketing data on transactions.
The company claims to have 500 paying customers, with 50,000 sales professionals using its product, which is available on iOS, Android and the web. Clients include Intel, Siemens, Volvo and Heineken.
Showpad generates $4.5m in revenues and employs 50 staff, 35 of whom are based in Belgium with the remainder in the US.
People
Pieterjan Bouten is the CEO of Showpad. Dawn senior associate Teddie Wardi will join the company's board of directors.
