
Index Ventures leads $24m round for Elasticsearch
Index Ventures, Benchmark Capital and new investor SV Angel have backed Dutch data analytics company Elasticsearch with a $24m series-B round of funding.
The series-B venture funding comes three months after Amsterdam-based Elasticsearch received $10m in a series-A round from Benchmark Capital.
Since then, the company has achieved more than two million downloads of its software. It intends to use the new funding to improve on meeting customer demand and to expand its team.

Elasticsearch is an open-source data search and analysis tool software that launched in 2009 and currently records approximately 200,000 downloads per month.
The company behind the software was founded in Amsterdam in 2012 and also provides professional training and consulting services to businesses. Elasticsearch's clients include Soundcloud, Foursquare and Fog Creek Software.

Mike Volpi led the deal for Index, Peter Fenton is a general partner at Benchmark and Ron Conway is the founder of SV Angel.
