
LDC backs Imagine Nation
LDC has backed Netherlands-based media content company Imagine Nation.
The firm will use the fresh funding to support the launch of new productions across several continents.
LDC will commit further capital on a right-of-first-refusal basis as new productions are launched.
LDC's recent investments in the media sector include the £8m take-private of media production company Boomerang and the £35m buyout of digital advertising media agency Ocean Outdoor.

Imagine Nation was founded in 2012 by Kees Abrahams, former president of international TV production at Sony Pictures Television, and chief creative officer Robin Levita. The media content company's offering spans film, theatre and television. Post-investment, the firm will initially focus on live theatre with particular atttention given to immersive theatre concepts and formats.
Imagine Nation has also produced a feature film supported by an app for use on mobile devices. The viewer is therefore able to follow a second storyline in the cinema, viewing cinema and second-screen content simultaneously.
Entertainment producer and promoter Harvey Goldsmith is a non-executive director at the firm.
