Main Capital sells Actuera to Waterland Private Equity
Main Capital has sold its majority stake in Dutch business software developer Actuera to Waterland Private Equity.
The new investor will support Actuera in its expansion in the European market.
Main Capital first invested in Actuera in October 2006, supporting the management buyout with equity from Main Capital II.
Company
Actuera offers software solutions to insurance companies, pension funds and administrators in the same field. Its prime product, maia, is designed for pension and life insurance policy administrators in the front, middle and back-office.
FlexiQ and iMo are affiliated companies that were set up in 2007, offering complimentary products. FelxiQ is wholly owned by Actuera, while the company only has an interest of 25% in iMo.
The company was founded in 1986 and is based in Capelle aan den IJssel, outside Rotterdam. Its latest figures show a turnover of €15m.
The brand Actuera was established in 1990, following a management buyout.

Charly Zwemstra, managing partner, led the exit for Main Capital Partners. Rene van Erp is CEO of Actuera.
