Swiss sponsor Ufenau mulls fourth continuation vehicle
DACH-based sponsor Ufenau has filed for its fourth continuation vehicle 10 months after it closed a third fund on EUR 563m.
The GP filed Ufenau Continuation 4 in February 2023 in Luxembourg.
The firm closed its third such fund in April 2022, set up to hold two Ufenau V assets of dermatology chain Corius and equine veterinary company Altano Gruppe.
At the time, it decided to hold on to the assets for more growth and M&A, as reported. In September, Corius acquired Dutch peer Mauritskliniek from Holland Capital.
Ufenau V, which is a 2016 vintage, still holds one unrealised asset, Kanalservice Gruppe, a Swiss-based sewer maintenance company. The fund acquired the company in December 2016.
The vehicle's predecessor, Ufenau IV (2013 vintage), still holds a handful of realised assets. These include Swiss outpatient group Doktorhuus, German claim management provider Fair Damage Control, and Swiss train operator TEX Group (Trans Europa Express), all of which it acquired between 2015-2016.
One asset from the IV vehicle, German car repair group Intelligent Repair Solutions, was transferred to the GP's second continuation vehicle in 2019.
Ufenau declined to comment.
