Tailormade (Belgium) - Dec 2007
KBC Arkiv has invested €1m, for a minority stake in Tailormade Logistics and Tailormade Transport, Flemish groups specialising in integrated logistics services. This is a follow-up investment to the €1m that KBC Arkiv invested in the group in July 2006 (September 2006, page 17). The owner did not invest, but remains the major shareholder.
Company
With a turnover of €19m, Tailormade Logistics and Tailormade Transport form a fast-growing Flemish group. Tailormade Logistics provides fully-integrated logistics services ranging from warehousing, inhouse and value added logistics to international transport and distribution, while Tailormade Transport is active in international transport. The concept of ‘industrial fulfilment’ used by the group involves the in-house handling of companies’ logistics activities, including IT support (a warehouse management system combined with a supply chain management system) and human resources management. The group works with large companies active in different sectors like the automotive, electronics, packaging and printing. The new capital will be used to invest in warehouse capacity and the extension of the fleet trucks and trailers. The company wants to extend the network over Europe to become an important player in the outsourced logistic services market. The board of the company remains unchanged.People
