According to reports in the German press, Permira may exit portfolio telecommunications company Debitel via a trade sale to rival Freenet. The purchase price is rumoured to be between EUR 1.4bn and 1.5bn.

ITALY – Clessidra and Intesa acquire 55% of toy manufacturer
Clessidra and Intesa Sanpaolo have acquired a 40% and 15% stake in toy manufacturer Giochi Preziosi respectively. The founder, Enrico Preziosi will retain the remaining 45% stake. The deal represents an exit for 3i.
ITALY – GE Capital to acquire Interbanca
US private equity firm GE Capital is in the final stages of acquiring bank Interbanca. According to sources, the transaction is valued at EUR 900m.
ITALY – Cape LIVE invests in asset management firm
Listed vehicle Cape LIVE has acquired a 10% stake in independent asset management company Zenit Sgr in a deal valued at approximately EUR 1.5m. Cape has the possibility of increasing its stake to 30% over the next three years.
