Private equity funds team up in bid for Polkomtel
In the latest development of the Polkomtel sale, a number of private equity firms have joined forces to make bids for the company, according to reports.
It is believed that KKR and Providence Equity Partners have formed a joint bid while Apax and Bain Capital have also joined forces. The sale is expected to fetch a price tag of around €4bn and, according to recent sources, a flotation may be the preferred route if bids are too low.
It is understood that the number of bidders for the Polish telco has fallen from seven to five.
