Advent International acquires Provimi for €188m
Advent International has agreed to acquire European manufacturer of pet food Provimi Pet Food (PPF) for an enterprise value of €188m.
PPF is headquartered in Budapest and produces wet and dry pet food. The company's largest markets are Hungary, the Netherlands, Poland, the Czech Republic and Slovakia. In 2010 PPF reported sales of €236m with a work force of approximately 1,000 people.
Advent aims to support the company's growth plans, which focus on organic growth, product development and an expansion into new markets. The investor has experience of the retail and consumer products sector, having invested in the sector since 1984.
The transaction, which is subject to regulatory approval, is expected to close within two months.
