Blackstone looking to invest in Russia
Blackstone Group is taking a closer look at Moscow on the search for investment opportunities in energy, emerging markets and growth capital for small companies.
The firm has recently established a foothold in the Russian capital. The investor says LBOs in the US are "pricey" and there are not many good prospects for investment at the moment.
Despite a lack of transparency in the Russian market, Blackstone is open-minded about opportunities in the region. According to the private equity group the country is benefiting from high energy prices but there are difficulties for businesses attempting to access capital.
