Resource Partners backs MAVIT Medical Center
Resource Partners has structured an undisclosed package of expansion funding to back the Polish private healthcare provider Centrum Medyczne MAVIT (MAVIT Medical Center).
The investor, which specialises in the provision of growth capital to central and eastern European consumer goods and service companies, has taken a 30% stake in the business.
MAVIT Medical Center plans to use the new funding to fund current and future expansion projects, one of the first of which will see the company add a specialist opthalmology ward to the group's Katowice facility.
MAVIT Medical Center was founded in 2000, initially operating an ophthalmology facility in Warsaw. The company later opened another second centre, also in Warsaw, three years later and to date has treated over 93,000 patients, performing more than 15,500 cataract removal procedures and 6,000 laser eye correction procedures.
In 2010 MAVIT opened its largest facility in Katowice. The hospital includes a laryngological and a maxillofacial surgery ward, as well as offering advanced audiology diagnostics.
