Resource Partners, Ardian sell Delicpol to Continental Bakeries
Resource Partners and Ardian have sold their stakes in Polish biscuit maker Delicpol to Dutch corporate Continental Bakeries.
Financial details were not disclosed. Delicpol will be fully owned by Continental Bakeries, a Dutch biscuit manufacturer owned by Goldman Sachs Merchant Banking Division and Silverfern.
Resource Partners sold the business alongside Ardian. The two firms entered a strategic partnership in May 2010 to focus on investments in central and eastern Europe.
Resource Partners and Ardian acquired Delicpol in 2012 from its four original founders. At the time, an external management team was already in place, which Resource Partners strengthened during its holding period. The GP hired a new CEO and an export director for western Europe, as well as a new production team.
During the holding period, Delicpol acquired two competitors, jaffa cake producer Cuprod in 2013 and filled-biscuit maker Chojecki in 2015.
Company
Founded in 1992, Delicpol is a biscuit maker based in Kamyk, Poland. Its key products are jaffa cakes, sponge cakes, ginger bread and breakfast cookies. Delicpol recorded an annual turnover of €58m in 2016 and operates with 950 employees.
