
Highlander-backed Akomex bolts on Plano Pack

Highlander Partners-backed Akomex, a Polish packaging group, has acquired Danish rival Plano Pack.
The investment comes eight years after the US- and CEE-focused GP acquired its portfolio company Akomex, which is headquartered in Starogard Gdański in north-western Poland.
The company manufactures and supplies packaging products made of corrugated and solid fibreboard for industries including food, pharmaceuticals, cosmetics, chemistry and electronics.
Previous funding
Highlander acquired Akomex in 2010 and subsequently took over Polish rival DrukPak in 2014. At the time of their acquisition, the two companies generated a combined turnover of €31m, according to a media report.

Established in 1998 and headquartered in Herning, Denmark, Plano Pack produces laminated cardboard for both food and non-food industries.
