Ukraine-based Horizon Capital's Rozetka bolts on Evo

Rozetka, a Ukrainian e-commerce retailer backed by Kiev-based Horizon Capital, has acquired domestic competitor Evo.
The merger enables the united platform to expand its product offering, and provide local SMEs with an improved internet marketplace experience.
Ukrainian GP Horizon Capital acquired a stake in e-commerce business Rozetka in 2015 via Emerging Europe Growth Fund II, a 2008-vintage $390m vehicle targeting opportunities in Ukraine, Moldova and Belarus.
At the time of the investment, Rozetka was planning to consolidate its position in the Ukrainian e-commerce market. The funding will also be used to support further growth in the region.
Founded in 2005 in Kiev, Rozetka is an e-commerce retailer in Ukraine, providing goods including laptops, smartphones, toys and fishing rods. It also sells train and airline tickets.
