
Rockaway Capital backs $6.9m series-B for Gjirafa
Rockaway Capital has invested in a $6.85m series-B funding round for Albanian internet services business Gjirafa.
The fresh capital will be used to scale its current products across the region.
Previous funding
Rockaway led a $2m series-A for Gjirafa in February 2016 in what it claimed was the first ever VC investment in Albania.
Company
Founded in 2014, Gjirafa is an Albania- and Kosovo-based website offering online search, advertising and other internet services to Albanian language speakers in the Balkan region. Similar to Yahoo!, the company was founded by Mergim Cahani, who developed it in Prague's StartupYard accelerator. The website claims to have 3 million monthly unique users.
