
Mid Europa-backed Regina Maria buys Somesan Clinic
Mid Europa's Romanian medical services business, Regina Maria, has acquired Somesan Clinic from its founder, Alexandru Somesan.
The addition of Somesan extends Regina Maria's reach to 19 counties and adds 20 outpatient clinics to the network.
Mid Europa acquired Regina Maria in 2016, drawing capital from its Mid Europa IV fund. The vehicle generally invests equity tickets in the range of €75-200m.
Company
Somesan was founded in 2013 and is headquartered in Baia Mare. The chain comprises 20 outpatient clinics, 26 inpatient beds and a laboratory and imaging department. It employs 200 people and generates sales of RON 15m, according to a statement.
