
EI sells Danwood to trade for €140m
Enterprise Investors (EI) has sold Danwood, a Polish manufacturer of prefabricated houses, to South Korean construction company GS Engineering & Construction for €140m.
Total gross proceeds generated by the investment amount to €238m, yielding a 9x total gross multiple. The transaction is subject to approval from local authorities.
EI wholly acquired the company in a carve-out transaction from Budimex for €57.1m in 2013. Between 2014 and 2019, Danwood invested more than €27m in expanding its production capacities.
EI was invested via its Polish Enterprise Fund VII, which held a final close on €314m in May 2013. The vehicle focuses on the Polish mid-market and deploys equity tickets of €20-50m.

Headquartered in Białystok and with two production plants in Bielsk Podlaski, Danwood designs and builds ready-to-move-in houses for individual customers. By the end of 2019, the company's production capacity reached 2,000 houses and revenues exceeded €274m, the company claims. Danwood employs 2,000 people.
