Capital Dynamics and Arx buy Fincentrum
Capital Dynamics and Arx Equity Partners have bought a majority stake in Czech financial advisory services provider Fincentrum for an estimated CZK 750m.
Lubor Žalman, Raiffeisenbank's former CEO, co-invested in the business alongside the company's managers Martin Nejedlý and Petr Stuchlík, who will continue to hold a significant stake and run the company. Other key managers also acquired shares. The transaction valued the company at CZK 1.2bn.
Fincentrum plans to accelerate its growth following the transaction and seeks to become the most used financial advisory firm in the Czech Republic and Slovakia by 2017, according to its CEO. The firm will also introduce a shareholding scheme for its advisers, which will award top performers up to 7% of the company in 2013 and further options in the following years.
Arx is an established investor in the CEE region and currently holds stakes in Bochemie and Lexum, among others. However, Fincentrum is Capital Dynamics' first direct investment in Eastern Europe.

Fincentrum was established in April 2000 in the Czech Republic, with headquarters in Prague. The business offers financial advice to both individuals and corporates, and also operates a media and event management arm. Fincentrum's turnover stood at CZK 1.037bn in 2011.

Lubor Žalman will chair the supervisory board of the company following his co-investment alongside Arx and Capital Dynamics. Together the three investors hold a majority stake in Fincentrum. Chairman and CEO Petr Stuchlík and Fincentrum's co-founder Martin Nejedlý also invested.
