VIYM invests in Semeiny Doktor
Russian firm Venture Investments & Yield Management (VIYM) has acquired a significant stake in Semeiny Doktor, a Russian chain of family medical clinics.
Russian reports state the company is estimated to be valued at around RUB 600m ($17.2m).
VIYM plans on holding the company in its portfolio until 2018. During the next few years, the firm plans on opening four new Semeiny Doktor clinics in Moscow and up to five regional clinics elsewhere in Russia.
VIYM provides growth capital investments of $5-15m to SMEs in Russia and other former Soviet Union countries, typically picking up stakes between 25-49%. The firm focuses its investment efforts on the IT, healthcare, industrials and consumer goods sectors.
The investment firm currently has more than $400m in assets under management. VIYM is headquartered in London with additional offices in Moscow, St Petersburg and Luxembourg.

Founded in 1995, Semeiny Doktor (Family Doctor) is based in Moscow and currently operates three clinics in the city and surrounding region, as well as providing homecare medical services.
Semeiny Doktor offers private diagnostic services and treatments aimed at Russia's emerging middle class. The company had a client base totalling 200,000 in 2013, and claims to assist 38,000 patients per year.
The company employs more than 200 staff and generated revenues of approximately RUB 400m ($11.5m) in 2013.

Alexander Shlychkov is the CEO of Semeiny Doktor. VIYM investment department deputy head Sergey Volchenkov worked on the deal for the firm.
