
İş Private Equity offloads Aras Kargo stake
Turkey-based İş Private Equity has sold its 20% holding in parcel delivery group Aras Kargo to Austrian Post in a deal worth €50m.
As part of the transaction, Austrian Post also acquired a further 5% stake in Aras Kargo from the company's founders, the Aras family. Following the deal, the Aras family remain the majority owners with a 75% stake.
Austrian Post's 25% acquisition is valued at around €50m.
İş acquired its stake in Aras Kargo in December 2011, investing slightly less than $10m (€7.5m) as part of a growth equity deal.
Company
Aras Kargo is a Turkish parcel service provider, with annual revenues of around €250m. The company delivers an average of 46 million parcels and 32 million documents each year, and has a market share in excess of 25%.
The company operates throughout Turkey through its 800 branches, 28 distribution centres and 2,600 delivery vehicles. Aras Kargo employs 5,400 people.
