Bessemer leads $9m series-A for Pipedrive
Bessemer Venture Partners, Paua Ventures and existing investors have injected $9m into Estonian business software provider Pipedrive.
Previous backers Rembrandt Venture Partners and AngelPad (which incubated Pipedrive in 2012) also took part in the round.
The business will use the fresh funds to develop its product range, increase marketing efforts and improve the services it provides to its customers.
Pipedrive raised $2.4m from Storm Ventures, Rembrandt, TMT Investments and a number of angel investors in 2013. Previous backer TMT's investment came in the form of a $450,000 unsecured convertible promissory note.
Storm and Rembrandt led the 2013 round, which also saw several angel investors back the company, namely: Transferwise co-founder Taavet Hinrikus; Twilio engineering vice president Ott Kaukver; Fortumo and Mobi Solutions co-founder Rain Rannu; and Fresco Capital Advisers managing director Tytus Michalski.
Prior to this round, Pipedrive had raised $4.4m in total.

Founded in 2010, Pipedrive is based in Tallinn with a US headquarters in Palo Alto. The company currently employs 77 staff (up from around 20 at the time of the 2013 round, according to unquote" data).
Pipedrive provides sales management software-as-a-service products to SMEs, designed to simplify and improve customer relationship management software.
