
Catalyst backs Smart Bill
Catalyst Romania Fund and Gecad Group have invested €1m in Romanian cloud invoicing company Smart Bill.
With the fresh capital, Smart Bill plans to strengthen its market position in the invoicing and cloud management market in Romania. It also plans to delve into the e-invoicing market.
Catalyst Romania is mainly funded by the European Investment Fund. The private equity and venture capital investor supports local SMEs from the technology, media and telecoms sectors, with investments in the range of €200,000-2m.
Company
Founded in 2007 and based in Sibiu, Smart Bill is a Romanian online invoicing software. The company claims its product has so far been purchased by 33,000 clients from the SMEs sphere, processing 1 million invoices per month at a yearly value of €2bn.
