Warsaw Equity Management acquires Paperlinx Poland
Warsaw Equity Management has acquired Paperlinx Poland, the Polish subsidiary of Dutch paper business Paperlinx Netherlands, alongside the company's management.
Although the value of the transaction was not disclosed, the deal comes in the wake of Paperlinx's Australian parent posting an interim loss of AUD 90m for H1 2015.
The group's Austrian, Benelux and UK subsidiaries have gone into administration, and Paperlinx is in the process of withdrawing from Europe after sales in the market plummeted.
Following the deal, the company will change its name to Zing, the name which it had been operating under in Poland during Paperlinx's ownership.
Company
Founded as Mercator Papier in 1991, Paperlinx Poland is a paper, logistics and packaging provider headquartered in Krakow.
The company became part of the Buhrmann Group in 1998, which was acquired by Paperlinx in 2003. For the past four years, Paperlinx Poland has been trading under the name Zing and employs around 150 people.
People
Mariusz Siwak is the managing director of Paperlinx Poland.
