
Goldman Sachs investment executive sets up venture capital firm
Paul Harvey is leaving Goldman Sachs to set up Abbey Road Venture Partners, a new European technology venture capital firm. The former European head of technology investment at Goldman Sachs will be joined by four partners including Brian Long, the founder and former chief executive of Parthus, and Kevin Dillon, vice-president of Microsoft in Europe. According to press reports, the firm is preparing to raise its first fund with a target of around E120m. The vehicle will focus mainly on European start-ups with a view to exiting via NASDAQ listing or trade sale to a US buyer.
