DKW in mezzanine initiative
Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein (DKW) has engaged in a joint venture with Anschutz Investment Company, the private equity arm of Denver-based Anschutz Group. Dresdner Anschutz Mezzinvest (DAM), the business formed as a result of the joint venture, will invest in mezzanine transactions across Europe. The company will focus particularly on early-stage investment in the UK and Germany. Robert Wardrop, managing director of Anschutz Investments Europe and Dirk van Daele, deputy global head of loans at DKW, will be co-chairman of DAM. DAM is aiming to invest at least E500m in six to eight deals over the next year.
