FT Holding GmbH
Deutsche Effecten- und Wechsel-Beteiligungsgesellschaft (DEWB AG) has realised its 24.8% equity investment in FT Holding GmbH, the management holding of ceramics producer Frauenthal Group to the majority shareholder, Austrian-based Ventana Beteiligungsgesellschaft mbH. The German/Austrian Frauenthal group is one of the largest producers of ceramics in Europe with some 275 staff and a turnover of around EUR 91m in 2002. In 1996 Frauenthal Keramik AG and Tridetal Technische Keramik GmbH merged to form CERAM Holding Group, based in Jena. In 1998 Ventana bought the majority interest of 75.1% in CERAM Holding. In September 2001, the Insulator Division of Ceram Group with an annual turnover of EUR 75m and 1.100 employees was sold to a USA-based investment fund and, following this transaction, in 2002 the remaining CERAM assets were restructured under the name of Frauenthal Holding AG.
