Nasdaq Deutschland to challenge Deutsche Börse
Nasdaq Stock Market Inc has announced plans to rival Deutsche Börse AG by setting up a new stock market in Frankfurt, called Nasdaq Deutschland. German banks Commerzbank AG and Dresdner Bank AG are supporting the attempt. The regional stock exchanges of Berlin and Bremen are also said to back the idea. Nasdaq Deutschland is expected to open in January 2003.
