Lazard - Professor Dr Hans Tietmeyer
Professor Dr Hans Tietmeyer, the former president of the German Bundesbank, has been appointed senior advisor at investment bank Lazard. In 1962 Tietmeyer joined the German Federal Ministry of Economics and became permanent secretary in the Ministry of Finance in 1982, where he was responsible for matters relating to financial policy, international monetary policy, the European Commission and several World Economic Summits. He was appointed a member of the board of directors at the German Bundesbank and the Central Bank Council in 1990. He was vice president at the German Bundesbank for two years before being promoted to president in 1993, a position he held until 1999.
