Apax releases private equity study
Apax Partners has released the Double Helix: Enterpreneurship and Private Equity study, which analyses worldwide private equity investment trends and forecasts significant growth up to 2012. The study was executed in cooperation with The Economist. Its main findings are a twofold increase in asset allocation to private equity by pension funds, more diversified and individual products and services in all technology sectors and a significant increase in what it calls social private equity, which invests in troubled communities. The Community Development Venture Fund, which was announced in May 2002, was the first social private equity fund to be launched in the UK.
