Investment banks start hiring
Increased confidence in the capital markets has led to a surge of recruitment initiatives at investment banks as they predict an upturn in the financial markets in the coming years. Thus far, Société Générale has confirmed that it is hiring up to 600 bankers across Europe while HSBC is on the lookout for a dozen senior M&A bankers to reinforce the company's operations in that particular field. The bank is also seeking traders in its primary debt arm. All of this is in addition to the announced plans to hire around 300 equities staff. Dresdner Kleinwort Wasserstein is looking to hire a dozen senior M&A bankers in London and around six senior M&A bankers in New York.
