First Ventury restructures after Aeris Holding acquires majority stake
With effect from 1 November 2002 Zug-based Aeris Holding AG has taken a majority stake in Karlsruhe-based technology venture capital firm First Ventury AG. Uwe Feuersenger remains as the only managing partner of First Ventury. Initially Aeris planned to take First Ventury off the German market, but after close examination of the current tax and investment situation both companies decided to continue with the existing research-to-business approach. However, over the following months Feuersenger will implement strategic changes to the firm’s investment focus in accordance with Aeris’ business proposal. Instead of solely focusing on Germany, First Ventury will in future also consider pan-European investments. In addition First Ventury will offer research institutions, universities and corporations a partnership programme for the initiation and the financing of spin-offs in the areas of information technology, physics and life sciences.
