Dr Michael Hochholzer has recently joined Siemens Venture Capital as investment partner in the Munich office to manage investment activity within the communications fund. His focus is on investments in mobile infrastructure and devices, enterprise infrastructure as well as semiconductors. Currently, Hochholzer is actively working with the portfolio companies Sandbridge Technologies and VPI Systems. He is a venture capital and marketing professional with 14 years of general management, product management and R&D experience in the communication, microelectronics and semiconductor industry. Prior to joining Siemens Venture Capital, Hochholzer was a partner with Infineon Ventures, the corporate venture capital organization of the semiconductor player Infineon Technologies. Educated at the Technical University of Munich, Hochholzer graduated with a masters degree in electrical engineering. His subsequent PhD thesis focused on research in optoelectronics and semiconductor lasers. After 4 years with Mustang Ventures and Siemens Venture Capital, his predecessor Rudi Hamann will move into a new operational role in the communication enterprise systems division of Siemens heading the midsize communication platforms business unit.
