Remus / Sebring Group

Lead Equities has taken a 49% stake in sports exhaust system manufacturer Remus / Sebring Group. The balance of the equity is held by the sellers, who reinvested in the new holding company. It marks the fifth acquisition by Lead Equities within the past 12 months. The deal was sourced through a direct approach by the investor to the sellers, the Kresch family, together with an intermediary and took around 12 months to complete.

Company

The company, founded in 1990 by Angelika and Otto Kresch, is the worldwide leading manufacturer of sports exhaust systems for high-performance cars and motorcycles in the OEM and aftermarket. With its well-known brands, Remus / Sebring Group has a longstanding track record in motor sports. Today, more than 70% of the group's total revenue of E80m is generated in one of its 50 export markets. The aim of the transaction was to secure support for future growth and to prepare the company for a possible floatation. The firm currently employs some 700 staff, almost all of whom are based in Austria.
