
SCM Strategic Capital Management
Christian Böhler has joined SCM Strategic Capital Management AG as senior analyst in the private equity department. Due to an increased number of client accounts, SCM had to increase its staffing level. The firm is intending to add further professionals during this year. Böhler is responsible for due diligence and the firm's fund investment analysis, reporting on industry trends and developments, and the negotiation of client investments recommended by the firm. He is also involved in research. Böhler started his career as a financial consultant and since 2000 worked for PricewaterhouseCoopers as a consultant and auditor. As a team manager he was responsible for company valuations in the context of private equity transactions as well as auditing assignments relating to private equity firms. He has published widely in trade and financial journals and had editorial responsibility for a widely recognized study commissioned by PricewaterhouseCoopers on ‘External reporting and corporate governance of private equity funds’. He is also a member of the Commission on Ethics and Governance of the Swiss private equity and corporate finance association (SECA). Böhler studied at the University of St. Gall, Switzerland, and graduated with a diploma in business administration, specializing in accounting and consulting. In January 2004 he completed his doctoral thesis pending his PhD graduation at the University of St. Gall.
