Swiss gatekeeper Strategic Capital Management has made two new additions to its private equity team. Ralph Aerni was promoted to head up the private equity team which has also been strengthened by the addition of professionals Christian Boehler and Oliver Hahn. Aerni, who joined the firm in early 2003 from Swiss Life Private Equity Partners AG, was previously a senior analyst responsible for the selection and due diligence of private equity partnerships. He will head up the expanded team of ten investment professionals at SCM. Aerni takes over from CEO and founder partner, Stefan Hepp. Boehler joins as senior analyst from consultancy PricewaterhouseCoopers, where he was an auditor responsible for the investment management of private equity companies. Hahn, who was previously a controller for the retailer Metro Group, joins as an analyst. On 1 April 2004, SCM split the asset management activities of the company into a new entity, Global Investments Schurch and Partner AG, retaining the core activities of private equity and alternative assets advisory services within SCM.
