After a nine-year holding period Permira, Goldman Sachs Capital Partners and SV Life Sciences have sold Cognis Holding GmbH to BASF for an enterprise value of €3.1bn. JP Morgan and Goldman Sachs ran the auction process, which is said to have attracted strong interest from other strategic buyers.
