Riverside promotes Schaich to European principal
Riverside has promoted Patrick Schaich to principal, responsible for the firm's origination efforts in the DACH region.
Schaich joined Riverside in 2013 as vice-president of origination and works out of the Munich office. Prior to joining Riverside, he was vice-president at Berenberg Bank's M&A advisory practice. Earlier, he served as associate for investment banking at Kepler Cheuvreux. He started his career as a consultant at EY's transaction advisory services.
Riverside's deal origination team counts around 20 members, with the European team being headed by Lars Eriksson. Riverside closed 44 transactions in 2015. The firm has so far made 10 DACH platform investments, of which three are in its current portfolio. The firm's most recent activity in Europe was the investment in Shrewsbury-based hospitality software provider Guestline in March 2016.
