Bösenberg leaves Sun European, triggering Frankfurt office closure
Managing director Andreas Bösenberg has left Sun European Partners, leading the GP to close its Frankfurt office.
Sun European will continue to operate in the region but investments will now be managed from London, according to a source close to the situation. The source said Bösenberg is likely to join a smaller German GP.
The GP has completed 9% of its deals in Germany and 12% in the DACH region as a whole, according to unquote" data.
Bösenberg joined Sun European two years ago and is said to be parting on amicable terms. Prior to Sun European, he was head of private equity and special situations at VTB. He has also worked at Brockhaus, 3i and Wermuth Asset Management.
Sun European declined to comment on the situation.
