DWS hires Mayfair's Mehta as private equity CFO
Neel Mehta has left British GP Mayfair Equity Partners to join Deutsche Bank's asset management arm DWS as chief financial officer of its global private equity business.
The announcement follows the recent appointment of Daniel Green as head of DWS's EMEA private equity activity.
In his new role, Mehta will be based in London and will lead the fund finance and accounting functions, working alongside the senior investment team to manage DWS's €2bn investments in private equity secondaries, made via its Private Equity Secondary Opportunities funds.
Mehta has 20 years of experience in private equity, including fundraising and limited partner due diligence, gained through previously held positions with managers and general partners of both funds-of-funds and direct private equity businesses.
Prior to joining DWS, Mehta was finance director at Mayfair Equity Partners, where he built and managed the accounting and finance function, including fund structuring and regulatory planning. He previously worked as finance manager at Keyhaven Capital Partners and as a finance and investment accountant at RIT Capital Partners. Mehta is a member of the BVCA Regulatory Committee.
