BlackFin appoints Franzmeyer to lead DACH expansion
Blackfin Capital Partners has appointed Kai Franzmeyer as managing director to head its expansion into the DACH region.
Franzmeyer will become head of BlackFin in Germany in September and will be responsible for all of the firm's activities in the DACH region.
The GP is headquartered in Paris but has invested in Germany previously. It sold financial services market place Finanzen.de to Eli Global in February this year, ending a five-year holding period.
Franzmeyer will team up with Blackfin's investment director, Aloysius von Mitschke-Collande, who has focused on the German market since joining in 2013. The GP expects to make further appointments at its Frankfurt office in the near future.
Prior to joining, Franzmeyer was a member of the senior management team of IT consultant Senacor Technologies. Before that he was chair of the managing board of Portigon, where he was responsible for efficiently implementing the decisions of the European Commission concerning the winding up of the former WestLB institution.
BlackFin manages €800m through two financial services growth buyout funds and one fintech-focused venture capital fund.
