Waterland promotes Hengst in Munich

Waterland Private Equity has promoted Gregor Hengst to the top level of management at its Munich office.
Hengst will be responsible for the build up of Waterland's German portfolio alongside managing partners Jörg Dreisow and Carsten Rahlfs. In addition to his responsibilities in Germany, Hengst will also head Waterland's Switzerland office, which opened in Zurich last year.
Prior to joining Waterland six years ago, Hengst was vice-president at US buyout fund Vestar Capital; before that he worked as an engagement manager at McKinsey.
Waterland completed 11 platform investments and 38 platform acquisitions across Europe in 2018, of which 15 transactions were in Germany and Switzerland.
The GP is currently deploying capital from its €2bn buyout fund that held a final close in August 2017.
