
Gyrus bolsters team
Switzerland-based GP Gyrus Capital has hired Christian Wipf as partner and Mattias Terribilini as associate, while Carlo Vanoli has joined the Gyrus operating and advisory partnership.
Wipf has more than 30 years' experience in M&A, specialising in industrials, healthcare, technology and software. He joins from GCA Altium, where he was part of the original founding team, most recently as senior adviser, chair and board member of GCA Altium Switzerland. He was also a member of Gyrus's operating and advisory partnership, having worked with Gyrus founder Guy Semmens on several transactions over the years.
Terribilini joins from Rothschild's healthcare team in London.
Vanoli, who is now part of the Gyrus operating and advisory partnership, has held a number of corporate roles, including senior vice-president for corporate development at Snia (part of the Fiat Group) and CEO of Sorin. He is also a board director of Corcym, Gyrus's carve out of the heart valve business unit from LivaNova.
Geneva-headquartered Gyrus expects to hold a final close for Gyrus Principal Fund on its hard-cap in Q2 2021, as reported. The fund was launched in Q1 2020 and held a first close in August 2020 in the €230-240m region. It has a hard-cap of €400m and a target of €200m, according to Unquote Data.
Gyrus Principal Fund invests in companies with enterprise values of €30-300m, focusing on businesses operating in the fields of healthcare, technology and sustainability that benefit from long-term sustainable growth opportunities.
