Golding hires Schütz as ESG director

Fund-of-funds manager Golding Capital has hired Christian Schütz in the newly created director of ESG role with the aim of developing its ESG structures and expertise.
Schütz joins from investment management firm Pimco, where he was senior vice-president of credit research and assisted with the integration of ESG criteria into the credit analysis process, including in the areas of energy and climate risks.
In his new role with Golding, he will be responsible for the implementation of the GP's sustainability goals at management and portfolio level.
Although separate from its ESG strategy, Golding launched its debut impact fund-of-funds in September 2021 with a EUR 300m target, as reported. Head of impact Andreas Nilsson, who joined the firm in May 2021, told Unquote that market discussions about ESG and impact are increasingly overlapping and converging, since an emphasis on ESG can move investors towards an impact-focused approach.
