Placement agent Asante expands to Munich
Private equity placement and advisory firm Asante Capital has expanded its presence to continental Europe via the opening of an office in Munich, with George Lyons serving as director of the new branch.
The firm said in a press release that the office opening is part of its strategic initiatives to connect European GPs with global allocators. The firm intends to make further hires following the establishment of the new office.
Lyons joined Asante in 2016, prior to which he worked at law firm Clifford Chance.
Founded in 2010, Asante currently has a 65-strong team and is present in Munich, London, Hong Kong and New York. The firm advises on GP and fundraising mandates, as well as primary, direct and secondary deals.
According to Unquote Data, Asante Capital has advised on vehicles for One Equity Partners, G Square Capital, Melior Equity Partners and Creandum. In 2021, the firm advised Capvis on a three-asset GP-led secondary deal for the last portfolio companies in its 2007-vintage third fund.
