Dechert bolsters Munich PE practice with WilmerHale hire

US-headquartered law firm Dechert has hired Kai Terstiege from WilmerHale as a partner in its Munich-based private equity (PE) team.
Prior to his time at WilmerHale, Terstiege worked at Allen & Overy, DLA Piper and Kirkland & Ellis, according to LinkedIn.
His experience spans mid-cap and large-cap private equity mandates, with a focus on the technology sector, according to a press release from Dechert.
The move will see Terstiege reunite with Dechert partner Dominik Stühler, who joined the firm in 2021 and worked with Terstiege at his previous firms. Terstege also overlapped with new Dechert counsel Tobias Hugo, who joined the firm last month, during his time at Allen & Overy.
Dechert’s Munich PE team has worked on several recent mandates including advising Ambienta on the sale of mobile and industrial filters supplier SF-Filter Group to Equistone, alongside work for ESG compliance software platform IntegrityNext and its shareholders on an investment from EQT Growth.
