
TGFS et al. back Caterna
Technologiegründerfonds Sachsen TGFS and HTG have invested €650,000 in Caterna GmbH.
The capital will be used for financing the market introduction, as well as research and development for appliances of therapy software in the ophthalmology sector.
Launched in 1995, Caterna GmbH is a spin-off from Dresden Technical University. It develops and distributes software to correct defective vision such as amblyopia or lazy eye. The company is planning to be able to provide ophthalmologists with treatment software in the beginning of 2011. The company's software allows children to be treated from home by using modified computer games to improve the patient's eyesight.
