Partners Group to increase direct investments
Partners Group plans to generate CHF 300m for direct investment through listing privately held shares in a bid to meet clients' interests.
The firm is in talks with founding partners and largest shareholders Marcel Erni, Alfred Gantner and Urs Wietlisbach to list approximately 1.6 million of their shares, or 6% of the total share capital, which it hopes will raise CHF 300m.
The capital will be invested in programmes with direct investment content alongside the firm's clients. Partners Group's direct investment activities have grown in recent years and it is expected that other senior management will make commitments in the future.
The firm also intends to increase free-float stock following shareholder requests. Founders will now be able to sell up to 4% of the total share capital each, leaving them with at least a 10% stake each.
