Intel Capital et al. back Sulfurcell
Intel Capital, Climate Change Capital, Bankinvest Group, Zouk Ventures, Masdar Cleantech Investments and Demeter have invested €18.3m in a fifth round of funding for Sulfurcell Solartechnik GmbH.
The round was led by existing investors and energy groups Vattenfall Europe and GDF SUEZ.
Berlin-based Sulfurcell is a producer of thin-film photovoltaic solar modules and was founded in 2001. The company produces solar modules with a capacity of 35MW. A further expansion to 75MW is planned.
